This paper will present the ongoing investigations at the site of the Lio Piccolo villa (Cavallino Treporti, Venice), on the ancient Altino coastline. The methodological approaches adopted (data and material retrieval from previous investigations, stratigraphic excavation, paleoenvironmental analysis, and study of material culture remains) will be briefly reviewed to focus on the relationship between humans and the environment. Particular attention will be paid to archaeobotanical data and material culture remains, which together provide insights into both the specifics of the natural landscape surrounding the site and the economic activities associated with the exploitation of not only the aquatic environment but also the surrounding territory. The study of the material culture remains also allows us to formulate some considerations regarding the trade and supply network in which the area was located, also in relation to its proximity to the port of Altino.

Abstract
The study of the material culture remains also allows us to formulate some considerations regarding the trade and supply network in which the area was located, also in relation to its proximity to the port of Altino.I documenti in ARCA sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
