In 2009, Ca' Foscari University of Venice, in collaboration with the then Superintendency for Archaeological Heritage of Friuli Venezia Giulia, launched an archaeological investigation project on the eastern bank of the river port of Aquileia, in the state-owned area known as the former Sandrigo Land. The investigations are ongoing under a concession with the cooperation of the Aquileia Foundation, to which the area was transferred in 2019. The former Sandrigo Land is now state property, surrounded by private agricultural land. In the topography of Roman Aquileia, it was located on the opposite bank of the river port's forum/monumental warehouses. The area therefore offered an opportunity to gain an integrated and complementary vision of the two banks, urban and peri-urban, of the canal port. This paper illustrates the preliminary results of ongoing research.

Abstract
This paper illustrates the preliminary results of ongoing research.I documenti in ARCA sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
