Face-to-face teacher training has proves scarsely useful. The essay proposes to adopt the flipped class methodology also in teacher training, especially as far as language education teachers are concernes, i. e. teachers of the mother tongue and of second, foreign and classical languages. An operational model is provided, after an epistemological discussion on the nature of teacher training.
