This volume deals with themes and questions linked to the ongoing debates, in the history of science and allied disciplines, about the importance of politics in and for science. The contributions that we introduce bring together inquiries concerning the history of science, sociological analysis, epistemological reflections and historiographic concerns to articulate a programmatic frame, which we term “political epistemology”. Here, our temporal and thematic focus is early modernity, which has been, for a long time, the crossroads of the various strands of reflection on science: historical, sociological, economic, political and philosophical.

Abstract
This volume deals with themes and questions linked to the ongoing debates, in the history of science and allied disciplines, about the importance of politics in and for science. The contributions that we introduce bring together inquiries concerning the history of science, sociological analysis, epistemological reflections and historiographic concerns to articulate a programmatic frame, which we term “political epistemology”. Here, our temporal and thematic focus is early modernity, which has been, for a long time, the crossroads of the various strands of reflection on science: historical, sociological, economic, political and philosophical.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
