Ms. Roth 701 (Leeds, Brotherton Library) contains 10 letters written by the Italian Jew Salomone Candia (dead by 1630) to his wife and his mother-in-law. These letters are in Italian written in Hebrew script, and witness to the influence of Christian Renaissance literature on Salomone's style. In the article the letters are edited for the first time in their original form and are transliterated and transcribed in Latin alphabet. Furthermore, a thorough linguistic analysis is provided.
