This paper examines the literary work of Colombian poet, sociologist, and ethnographer Estefanía Ciro Rodríguez, focusing on her poetry collection Artefactos Explosivos Inmateriales (2018). Through poetry, she transforms her ethnographic research into narratives of cocaleros—coca field workers—in the Caquetá region. A key aspect of her work is the complex relationship between the coca leaf and farmers, especially women, within the policies implementing the 2016 peace agreements between President Santos and the FARC-EP. The study highlights how poetry can enrich ethnographic discourse and reveal the agency of those subjects who struggle for balancing their livelihood with the stigma of "illegality" tied to coca cultivation.

Abstract
This paper examines the literary work of Colombian poet, sociologist, and ethnographer Estefanía Ciro Rodríguez, focusing on her poetry collection Artefactos Explosivos Inmateriales (2018). Through poetry, she transforms her ethnographic research into narratives of cocaleros—coca field workers—in the Caquetá region. A key aspect of her work is the complex relationship between the coca leaf and farmers, especially women, within the policies implementing the 2016 peace agreements between President Santos and the FARC-EP. The study highlights how poetry can enrich ethnographic discourse and reveal the agency of those subjects who struggle for balancing their livelihood with the stigma of "illegality" tied to coca cultivation.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
