Over the last thirty years, many Italian universities have introduced the teaching of Italian Sign Language (LIS) into their study programmes. Among them, the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano added two optional LIS workshops to the educational syllabus of the Master’s degree in Primary Education from the academic year 2020-21. In this paper, we describe our teaching experiences during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 academic years, focusing on the differences between the two workshops, such as the materials used and the activities carried out. We also provide an analysis of the students’ final exam scores and an evaluation of the two workshops.

Abstract
Over the last thirty years, many Italian universities have introduced the teaching of Italian Sign Language (LIS) into their study programmes. Among them, the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano added two optional LIS workshops to the educational syllabus of the Master’s degree in Primary Education from the academic year 2020-21. In this paper, we describe our teaching experiences during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 academic years, focusing on the differences between the two workshops, such as the materials used and the activities carried out. We also provide an analysis of the students’ final exam scores and an evaluation of the two workshops.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
