The essay introduces the contents of the collective book Antropologia Risorse Naturali e Conflitti ambientali, and supports the idea that anthropolog, through ethnographic practice, contributes widely to the interdisciplinary reflection on the prevention and management of environmental conflicts caused by global competition for the planet's natural resources. This volume presents a collection of unpublished articles based on the detailed analysis of socio-environmental conflicts linked to specific natural resources (e.g. forests, water, oil, landscapes) present in different geographical-cultural contexts (Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa).
