A student of Mario Dal Pra and of the tradition of the Milan School, a scholar of absolute methodological rigor but, at the same time, free from disciplinary prejudices, able like few others to combine lightness of tone and argumentative effectiveness, a tireless promoter of knowledge and culture: in over four decades of activity he has been able to combine excellent research and teaching with a passionate and constant commitment to civil society. On the occasion of his seventieth birthday, this volume collects the studies and testimonies of many students, colleagues, collaborators and friends who have crossed Generali's human and professional path.
