This article presents the results of some new research on Lodovico Albergoni, Casanova's traveling companion in Naples in 1770. His traces can be found within the records of criminal deliberations voted by the Council of Ten during the second half of the 18th century. In such registers, Albergoni's name appears on at least seven occasion for various charges, including that of sodomy. These documents make it possible to verify informations provided by Casanova's Memoirs, except for the one concerning Albergoni's meetings in the casino at Giudecca, which perhaps originated from another affair occured in Venice in those years.
