Carlo Crivelli. Nuovi studi e interpretazioni

This monographic supplement therefore came into being with the aim of stimulating and collecting ‘new studies and interpretations’ on the Venetian master by means of an international call for papers that would call for new research and unprecedented readings of the work of such a fascinating and complex artist. A scientific committee composed of specialists from European and American universities and museums selected the proposals, which were further reviewed by anonymous experts and are now published here. The following reflections are intended above all to accompany the reading of the volume, which, although the result of a polyphony, has been chorally orchestrated around certain fundamental themes of Carlo Crivelli's work and his powerful artistic personality.
