This contribution aims to provide an introduction to the archaeological study of the wetland and lagoon areas of the south-eastern and eastern Iberian coasts, with a focus on human-medium interactions in Roman times. The existence and visibility of ancient coastal settlements are closely linked to the history of the coastline. The slowing of sea level rise, coastal sedimentation, marine erosion, and anthropogenic action have profoundly modified the coast and these spaces. Thanks to the collaboration between geomorphology and archaeology and by virtue of greater interdisciplinarity, we know more about the environment in which important centres and populations were born and developed. Here we present the theoretical framework of the research we are developing and offer some concepts and methods for a comprehensive approach to the subject.

Abstract
Here we present the theoretical framework of the research we are developing and offer some concepts and methods for a comprehensive approach to the subject.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
