Atrper, nom de plume of Sargis Mubayeajian (Armenian: Սարգիս Մուբայաջյան; January 31, 1860 – May 27, 1937) was one of the most prolific and influential Armenian writers and explorers at the eve of the 20th century. He was also the first scholar bringing the prehistoric stelae known as "vishaps" to the attention of the academic community. This book traces the travels, explorations, and readings of Atrpet and his cultural milieu, focusing specifically on the research surrounding prehistoric megalithic art and the vishaps. Il also includes a critical evaluation of archival sources and the first full catalogue of the vishaps identified by Atrpet.
