Introduction

The article presents an overview of the phases (periodisation) of the excavation of the ancient urban site of Barikot (Bir-kot-ghwandhai, Swat, Pakistan) based on stratigraphic reconstruction and processing of absolute chronometric data (C14). The text is accompanied by a map (Fig. 1 on p. 10) and two tables (Tables 1 and 2) presenting, respectively, the concordance table of the phases in the various excavation trenches (see Fig. 1), and the list of 96 C14 measurements from the late Pleistocene to the pre-modern period.
