Analisi funzionale degli edifici interni

The paper presents a functional analysis of strategic early modern buildings and infrastructures in the Venetian fortification, or "Castello" of Brescia. It takes into consideration the house of the captain, barracks, warehouses, armories, gunpowder depots and water cisterns. It investigates their location within the fortification and their mutual spatial relationships, comparing them with the prescriptions given by Buonaiuto Lorini in his treatise "Delle fortificationi" (Venice 1596). Lorini was involved in the design and construction of the "Castello" in Brescia, and praise it as one of his best works in the treatise.
