Restauro archeologico di reperti in vetro: alcuni esempi da Venezia e laguna

This essay presents a pilot project focused on the restoration of archaeological glass materials, carried out by the Istituto Veneto dei Beni Culturali in collaboration with the Soprintendenza Archeologia, Belle Arti e Paesaggio of Venice and its Lagoon. The project involved the identification of glass artifacts from various periods, conducted by archae- ologists from the Soprintendenza and a multidisciplinary team from the Istituto Veneto, within the deposits of Lazzaretto Nuovo Island and Campagna Lupia, located near Ven- ice. This initiative in public archaeology has contributed to advancing knowledge about the production of Roman, medieval, and modern glass in Venice and its lagoon. It has also enhanced the visibility and public appreciation of lesser-known heritage objects and archaeological sites.
