MEMORIA Y OLVIDO EN TRES NOVELAS CATALANAS. PEDRA DE TARTERA, CAMÍ DE SIRGA Y LES VEUS DEL PAMANO

In this article I want to identify how historical memory is recovered and in particular how narrative plays with the problem of time. What I want to examine is how literary language, with its ability to penetrate and create situations of contamination, is best suited to present historical memory in a more ideological and emotional way, as a way of reconstructing, completing or correcting what the official histories have said. My thesis is that literature manages to recover or recreate what has been explained in official histories and in this way manages to give voice to memories, characters and realities that have been suppressed. To do this task I will analyze three contemporary Catalan novels that deal with memory, Pedra de tartera (1985), Camí de Sirga (1988) by Jesús Moncada and Les veus del Pamano (2004) by Jaume Cabré.
