International Investment Law and International Human Rights Law share common roots and a debate about the limits of self-contained regimes, including legitimacy. Even if, in some circumstances, investment issues may be addressed before IHRL Courts or even UN Treaty Bodies , undoubtedly, the main debate is focused on Human Rights issues in the context of investment arbitration, especially when they concern equitable land reform, indigenous rights, right to health, access to water, social rights or environmental protection. A further section will highlight the evolving regulatory regime after the UN Guiding Principles on Business&Human Rights (hereinafter UNGPs) and its impact on International Investment Law.
