Entre el cielo y el suelo: las identidades elásticas de las clases medias (Santiago de Chile, 1932-1962)

The book is the result of 10 years of research during which I focused on education, urban space, sports, and the press in order to address the formation and evolution of the local middle classes through gender, inter- and intra-generational, and inter-sectoral differences in daily life. The book presents a novel perspective and multidimensional analysis of Chilean middle-class identities, reflecting a unique transdisciplinary historical approach that draws on multiple sources such as oral testimonies, newspapers, city hall minutes, censuses, visual culture such as cartoons, and advertising. Additionally, it takes an innovative and multidisciplinary approach to the conceptualization of social classes and introduces their connection with recent history and current reality.
