Il contatto tra Etruschi e Veneti: una rilettura dei dati epigrafici

Venetic inscriptions make an important contribution to highlight the contact and the relationships between the Etruscans and the Veneti; even if it is already widely investigated, it can been even deeper examinated. The intervention aims to take stock of some issues now canonical - the transmission and adaptation of writing in particular -but also to expand the investigation to other cultural aspects. A reviewed frame of the acquisition of the Etruscan alphabet by the Veneti is proposed, also in relation to a dating revision; the differentiation between the graphic uses of Este and Padua can be explained by willingness to underline their own identity. The adaptation of Etruscan gift inscription formula to create Venetic votive inscription is also considered. Finally the paper discusses the mobility of individuals, that is traced on the basis of the onomastics: some proper names demonstrate the presence of Etruscan individuals and their integration inside the venetic society.
