Abstract
In the Republic of Venice of the late eighteenth century there were feudal iurisdictions that ensured holders the exercise of various - and sometimes plenary- public rights. In Brescia, however, the feudal lords generally held iurisdictional prerogatives limited to civil cases and the “minor Criminal”. Despite this, there were those who interpreted their powers over the subject population very extensively, nor did they fail to demonstrate towards their legitimate sovereign a consideration so weak as to become a real disavowal. Without this entailing particular and decisive state interventions, such as to punish such excesses and to relieve those who instead had to suffer them.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
