Sumerian royal inscriptions are historically very important, as they provides us with the earliest, coherent textual corpus for the study of early political history, as well as of the developments in language, rhetoric, royal ideology and propaganda of early Mesopotamia, from the mid-third to the early second millennia BCE. The book provides an introduction to such sources, together with a comprehensive annotated glossary of all terms attested in them, with translations and comments of textual entries selected on the basis of their historical relevance.
