Abstract
For Luigi Paolucci, too, the museum took on the character of a celebration of local identity, to which he added the practice of constant comparison as the basis for experimentation and the well-known scientific and printed activity. The study and systematic growth of the collections are also attested to by the enterprise conducted by Luigi Paolucci in the establishment of the Herbarium of the Marche currently housed at the 'Interdepartmental Botanical Garden Services Centre' of the Marche Polytechnic University. To trace the history of the Doric scientific collections in detail would require a detailed archival investigation aimed at understanding the reasons for the dismemberment of the collections. The subject, however, is part of the complex field of investigation of the archives of scholastic memory; in this case the data is also aggravated by the wide dispersion of Ancona's archival fonds. From an initial examination, the dis-arrangement of the collections appears to be part of the revision of values induced by the Reconstruction Museums, also increased by the national debate that identified in the museum's mission that necessary social experience often denied by didactic and encyclopaedic collections. The complete placement in storage - unordered and unequipped - is believed to have been ordered following the earthquake that struck the capital city of the Marche in 1972, to which the dispersion of the nuclei and collections is in fact traced.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
