The subject of this article is Faust. Ein Fragment (1790) by Goethe, a text to which scholars have rarely given the attention it deserves, tacitly considering it merely a preparatory text for the completed drama of 1808. Here it is read from two perspectives: as evidence of the writer's reflection on his youth and the periods of his production in relation to the travelogue he wrote in Italy; and from the perspective of its reception in Kleist's Käthchen von Heilbronn in particular.

Abstract
The subject of this article is Faust. Ein Fragment (1790) by Goethe, a text to which scholars have rarely given the attention it deserves, tacitly considering it merely a preparatory text for the completed drama of 1808. Here it is read from two perspectives: as evidence of the writer's reflection on his youth and the periods of his production in relation to the travelogue he wrote in Italy; and from the perspective of its reception in Kleist's Käthchen von Heilbronn in particular.File in questo prodotto:
