Torture et violence structurelle envers les migrants : le système de déshumanisation dans les Balkans

This article analyses the phenomenon of torture, inhuman treatment, and institutional violence against migrants, highlighting how it has become a global phenomenon and a structural element of the migration experience in most of the world. The article dwells on the examination of the factors underlying the development of this phenomenon, such as the processes of tightening of migration policies, of precarization-clandestinization-criminalization of migrants, of harshening of institutional racism, all elements that - together with securitarian policies, fear policies, theories of criminal law of the enemy - feed the creation of contexts, environments and situations permeable to torture. The article takes up this conceptual and analytical framework focusing, as a case study, on the Balkan context, indicating the existence of a system of dehumanisation of migrants constituted by specific processes and mechanisms.
