The catalogue contains an edition of seven funerary reliefs and fragments: the five inscribed specimens, and other sculptures still unpublished, were recovered in 2016 by a joint Syrian-Japanese-Polish-French mission from the looted Museum of Palmyra. The artefacts were restored in 2019 and 2020 in the framework of the training project "The methodology of restoration of stone objects using broken Palmyrene sculpture" supported by the United Nations and the Japanese government, and later displayed in the exhibition "Dear Palmyra. Hope from Ruins. The Revived Palmyrene Sculptures" at the Archaeological Institute of Kashihara, January 15–30, 2022, and at the Ancient Orient Museum of Tokyo, February 5–27 2022.
