In Equilo, only the last steps of iron processing took place, although we are unable to determine which finished objects were produced. A large area dedicated to iron production, divided in two main nuclei, was identified in the northern portion of the Late Antiquity settlement. It is thought that different stages of metal production took place there, from the iron bloom to the finished object (such as forging, annealing, hardening and any assembling and finishing).
