Despite the small size of the castrum, the assemblage of metal finds collected at the site of Cuol di Ciastiel is significant. The artefacts, mainly in copper alloy, as well as iron and lead, include different objects. For the purposes of analysis, the repertoire has been divided into three categories: tools and implements used for metalwork and other crafts (such as metal pots, tools and ingots, billets, and semi-finished artefacts), domestic works (toiletries, styli, locks and keys, nails and weapons) and personal wear (belt fittings, buckles, studs, ornaments, jewels). The comparison with other finds from similar archaeological sites allowed to identify the castrum among temporary military settlements of Late Antiquity in the North-Eastern Italy.

Abstract
Despite the small size of the castrum, the assemblage of metal finds collected at the site of Cuol di Ciastiel is significant. The artefacts, mainly in copper alloy, as well as iron and lead, include different objects. For the purposes of analysis, the repertoire has been divided into three categories: tools and implements used for metalwork and other crafts (such as metal pots, tools and ingots, billets, and semi-finished artefacts), domestic works (toiletries, styli, locks and keys, nails and weapons) and personal wear (belt fittings, buckles, studs, ornaments, jewels). The comparison with other finds from similar archaeological sites allowed to identify the castrum among temporary military settlements of Late Antiquity in the North-Eastern Italy.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
