Vol. 1 of the Complete Works presents the 24 motets of the young Gabrieli’s first single-author collection, published by Antonio Gardano in 1565 and reprinted in 1572. 1584 and 1590. An appendix to the modern edition contains several variant readings inserted in the 1584 reprint, most likely formulated or at least approved by the composer.
