The purpose of this chapter is to discuss how relationships are established between what is lived now and the memories of the past, producing new images and new horizons of expectations about the experience of everyday life. As a case study, we use oral narratives of Brazilian immigrants (in many cases, Italian-Brazilian), who made the decision to move to the Italian Peninsula at the end of the first decade of the 21st century. The sources used for this study were collected in two research projects on contemporary Brazilian migration in Italy (the first on women's migration, and the second on Italian descendents), with the participation of colleagues from different Brazilian universities (UFSM, UDESC, UCS, UFES). In these projects, we have already observed a first attempt to elaborate immigration itineraries, related not only to the networks that are built in the migratory processes, but also to the experience prior to departure (in most cases, in Italian immigration communities of the late nineteenth century, in the called "Italian Immigration Zones" in Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Espírito Santo), and how this will guide immigrants' mobility choices of immigrants. Therefore, the object of the analysis is how the Brazilian immigrants are re-reading their stay in Italy, their relation with Brazil and, in the case of Italian descendants, their return projects. Italian descendants, their return projects.
