The chapter is dedicated to the motif of "wall" and "separation" in the poetry and prose of the Cypriot poet Michalis Pieris for a commemorative volume after the poet's death in 2021. It argues that the "wall" (the Green Line which divides Cyprus) is a yet omnipresent but mostly unspoken in the poet's production and analyzes Pieris' approach to the psychological and political impact of separation and nationalism.
