The great transformation, echoing Karl Polany’s successful textbook, is the main track in Eugenio Turri’s Semiologia del Paesagio Italiano (Semiology of Italian Landscape). The recent reprint of the latter is a good opportunity to consider the evolution of Italian contemporary landscapes in order to focus on the long time undisturbed dynamics of land consumption and urban sprawl affecting the environmental quality in most of Italy. Main risks concern irremediable devastations and dissipations of the public heritage perpetrated ever since the Sixties, the early years of the economic “miracle”.

Abstract
The great transformation, echoing Karl Polany’s successful textbook, is the main track in Eugenio Turri’s Semiologia del Paesagio Italiano (Semiology of Italian Landscape). The recent reprint of the latter is a good opportunity to consider the evolution of Italian contemporary landscapes in order to focus on the long time undisturbed dynamics of land consumption and urban sprawl affecting the environmental quality in most of Italy. Main risks concern irremediable devastations and dissipations of the public heritage perpetrated ever since the Sixties, the early years of the economic “miracle”.File in questo prodotto:
