La relazione nel dialogo. A partire da Socrate e Gregory Bateson

Gregory Bateson problematized and explored in a peculiar way the mind-body relation and the theme of relations among organisms in the living world, both in his life and in his works. In this perspective, he can offer a corpus of refl ections which are signifi cant to think, in a complex and challenging way, some fundamental knots of medical theory and practice. In particular, his epistemological doubts concerning any form of scientifi c certitude can represent a useful philosophical stimulus to thematize, with a critical and vigilant eye, various aspects of medicine and of the relations of cure. In this article, Bateson’s perspective is combined with the practice of the integral Socratic dialogue, with the aim of proposing some suggestions within philosophical practices in the fi eld of medicine. The result of this approach is the description of an experience where the care of relation emerges as a fundamental element of the relations of cure.
