Abstract: In a still unedited Latin manuscript of the late Fourteenth Century, by the pen of the famous humanist Pomponius, we find the description of an era unknown to the Western chronology – starting with the first year of the reign of Alexander IV Aegus. Some others calendrical informations con- tained in this manuscript are undoubtedly connected with the Arabo- Islamic astronomical science. This all constitutes the basis – that is pre- sented here – for a far-reaching research on the Author’s versatile inter- ests and the existence of an alternative chronological tradition regarding the first Hellenistic Age.
