At the end of 2000s the circular economy programm was integrated in Chinese Law. This paper analyzes Chongqing media narratives related to the process of industrial reform, that are based on emotional aspects of living in rural areas and the contemporary practice of reconstruction of social imaginaries. This study is focused on the use of language and images in a local newspaper article, which are investigated to point out the shift from personal memory to comunicative memories widespread in the media environment. The purpose is to critically question the creation of new models of significance that relate on post-memory and landscape idealization for their legitimation.
