The frescoes of Villa Bembo Valier known as 'La Chitarra' decorated the monumental façade on the river. The figures looked out from a balustrade, simulating false windows. Critics are divided as to their authorship: attributed to Giambattista Zelotti by E. Bassi, they were considered to be by Girolamo Forabosco da Safarik. Inside the villa there are several frescoed rooms. An attribution to Domenico Bruni from Brescia has been proposed for these works.

Abstract

The frescoes of Villa Bembo Valier known as 'La Chitarra' decorated the monumental façade on the river. The figures looked out from a balustrade, simulating false windows.
