Il contributo della Dichiarazione universale dei diritti umani alla lotta contro la schiavitù e le altre gravi forme di sfruttamento umano

This article aims at reconstructing the regulatory content and scope of Article 4 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, emphasizing to that end the related travaux préparatoires. The investigation has a dual purpose. Firstly, to fully reveal the role of the Universal Declaration on the evolution of the international legal framework concerning slavery and other related phenomena. Secondly, to verify if and to what extent the Universal Declaration maintains its relevance with regard to contemporary challenges characterizing the fight against serious forms of human exploitation.
