The article offers an edition, English translation, and discussion of a new Genizah fragment which preserves the prayer to Helios from the late antique Hebrew book Sefer ha-Razim (‘The Book of Mysteries’). In addition to analyzing the ‘Sitz im Leben’ of the fragment, the article studies the prayer to Helios, offering a reconstruction of its original Greek wording in light of the new textual witness. The study includes two appendices, one with an edition of the Hebrew text of the new fragment, and one with a synopsis of the text of this prayer as found in all the textual witnesses.
