As linguagens que nos inventam: Porta Macau

This text intends to think about Macau Literature within that of a definition that goes beyond the one made by framing it in the use of a single language within nationalist canons. The work approaches the notion that Cheng Wai Ming (1995) defined in his text "Chinese Literature of Macao between the Eighties and Early Nineties" in which this literature is open to all languages ​​and that it cannot be considered only in relation to writers who were born in the territory (or even who are residents). An important notion of your text is to reflect on the fluidity of Macau from its own characteristics; that of having been a place of intense migratory flows, both for having received refugees from various places during the historical events of the 19th and 20th centuries, and for being characterised, today, also by its diasporas. The text seeks to point to the need for a flexible conceptualisation of what we could identify as Literature of Macao.
