In 2016, Hayfā’ Bīṭār published Ṭifl al-Tuffāḥ (The Apple Child), a short story collection in which she recalls Syria's “stolen revolution”, but mainly describes victims of the war that suppressed the peaceful 2011 uprising. This article explains how the Syrian feminist writer depicts women and children in some of these tales.
