Perspectives on Political Communication

The volume explores the topic of Political Communication by both taking into account its historical evolution and proposing models and case studies of current phenomena. The primary and shaping focus of this compendium of studies is observing the centrality of political communication across history and social contexts. It results by collecting papers delivered at the Graduate Conference organized in Pavia on 1st and 2nd March 2019 by Collegio Ghislieri. Over the course of the 20th century our understanding of the concepts, images and ideas relating to political communication has grown significantly through studies that draw on a variety of methodologies. The early career scholars who took part in the Conference represent a summa of the extension and variety of what political communication means today. The book contains ten different methodological and multidisciplinary perspectives, ranging from Classical Antiquity to present times.
