Cinema, like literature or photography, has the ability to reflect the transformations a city has undergone throughout its history while also contributing to the construction of the imaginary associated with it, influencing the way we perceive and remember it. This book takes a journey through various films shot in Barcelona from the mid-20th century to the present day, a period in which both the city's physiognomy and image have undergone significant changes. Cinema is an historical source to investigate the evolution the city has experienced in recent decades and an instrument capable of influencing the perception of urban space and the construction of its image. This, whether intentionally or not, contributes to its promotion and commercialization in the global tourist market.
