As is well known, in the background of Fleck's considerations on the theory of science, there is also the leading question of how styles of thinking, in general, determine our ideas about illness. However, little attention has been paid to the fact that, firstly, the cultural shaping of the medical concept of disease also has consequences for the concept of health and, secondly, it is precisely the phenomenon of the symptom-free carriage of viruses that served Fleck as a prime example to demonstrate the power of scientific constraints on thinking and that became for him the pivotal point for profound revisions in serology.

Abstract
As is well known, in the background of Fleck's considerations on the theory of science, there is also the leading question of how styles of thinking, in general, determine our ideas about illness. However, little attention has been paid to the fact that, firstly, the cultural shaping of the medical concept of disease also has consequences for the concept of health and, secondly, it is precisely the phenomenon of the symptom-free carriage of viruses that served Fleck as a prime example to demonstrate the power of scientific constraints on thinking and that became for him the pivotal point for profound revisions in serology.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
