Einleitung

For the first time, the compendium takes a look at Nietzsche's extensive poetry in its entirety and thus provides evidence of the equal status of Nietzsche's poetry in the context of his work. The focus is on contributions that open up individual poems and lyrical contexts through close reading on the premise that they are specifically philosophical ways of speaking. This includes attention to textual genesis as well as to the presentation of the poems. In this way, the volume pursues the goal of using Nietzsche as an example to trace the relationship between philosophy and literature in all its complexity: the poetic of philosophy, the intellectual of poetry.
