This work examines several factors that confirm the need to promote the development of professional reflective skills during academic social work programs. It seems to be of crucial importance to think about how academic social work studies can best ensure future social workers get the right knowledge for reflective thinking. The reflections of this chapter are developed and based on the training and work scenarios in the Italian context but also could apply for the often similar social work contexts in other countries.
