The main goal of the paper is to illustrate the first research results for the documentation of sub-Himalayan Indo-Aryan languages of the Indian states of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. In more detail, we will highlight the principal linguistic peculiarities of Western Pahāṛī languages, with a focus on some of them common to Dardic and Nuristani languages and, with reference to Western Pahāṛī languages, to Baṅgāṇī.
