The birth of Studio Ghibli in 1985 confirmed the success of two artists that would have soon represented the best models in the world of Japanese animation: Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata. Their heroines, in particular, created captivating trends in the new millennium, to the point that a large number of films inspired by their shōjos were produced after each single release. At the same time, this stimulating tendency intensified a new portion of web-based animation providing independent animators with the opportunity to widespread their art throughout the world.
