The present article investigates the deeper sacramental and liturgical reasons for Dionysius' application of late Neoplatonic metaphysics of mixture to his presentation of Christian theology, and argues that his plemical goal in doing so was the panentheistic eschatology of 6th-century extremist Palestian Origenism.
