Joaquim Molas started reading in his family library. Later on he studied Romance Philology at the University of Barcelona. Finally in the late 1950's he spent two academic years teaching at the University of Liverpool. This was a revelation. Family tradition and scientific knowledge helped him to formulate an original vision of the Catalan avant-garde, editing anthologies and surveys and paying attention to some of the major figures, Joan Salvat-Papasseit, J.V. Foix and Salvador Dali, without forgetting lesser known figures who played a crucial role in that time. The article examines the so-called "Molas Method" (MM), a window to capture how he organized his original study of Literature.
