It also represents a personal history of friendships and meetings with poets, intellectuals, places and commitments since his first landing in Rapallo in the early 1950s. The book presents an introduction by Charles Tomlinson himself and a postscript by the editor who explains how this manuscript has been planned and published after the closing up of the OUP contemporary poetry series. Among the various translators: Marco Fazzini, Mary de Rachewiltz, Valerio Magrelli, Massimo Bacigalupo, Francesco Marroni, Armando Pajalich, Anna Cascella, Paolo Bertolani, ecc.
